Le Havre – Trophy Stud!

Trophy stud

10th July 2024

We recently received a call to attend a ferry in Le Havre. Several cap screws that held the air cooler to the back of the engine had sheared, causing air leakage around the joint. Our engineers were tasked with removing and replacing them with new screws. Despite the challenging working space, they successfully completed the task over a 2-day period.

While aboard the ship, one of our engineers noticed a section of a broken cylinder head stud with our signature 1-inch square hole in the centre. This piece was hanging in the workshop as a ‘Trophy.’ Interestingly, it was noted that this stud had been removed back in 2006, just 1 year after we first started specialising in stud removal!
