Foretract have recently completed a project to thermal spray a hard coating onto a wearing surface of a 7m long roller.
This was carried out with a spray nozzle mounted on a purpose-built, hydraulically powered feed rail. A consistent spray pattern along the length of the roller was achieved by controlling the longitudinal spray feed relative to the rotational speed of the roller.
